Grandma Josie was always a movie fanatic. While Grandpa Ben talked about the latest developments in Musky and Walleye tackle, Josie provided Battle Lake visitors and natives alike with movie reviews of the nation's most popular flicks. Back then, there wasn't any form of movie rental system in place, so Josie started her own. At first, she started lending them out as favors, but as demand grew she found that she needed multiple copies of some films just to keep up.
Over time, a tradition was started as Battle Lake local fishing guides told visitors about Josie's collection of old and new movies alike. Word got around that Josie had new movie releases every week, and Ben's Bait Shop became the popular stop on the way to lake for bait and tackle, and again on the way home for the night's entertainment!
